This new, mostly blue 4’3”x6’2” piece is handmade in Afghanistan with hand-kart wool and vegetable dyes. The design is traditional, taken from the 16th-century rulers of Egypt, the Mamelukes. The combination of vegetable dyes and hand-karted wool creates a beautiful abrash, accentuating the depth and complexity of the colors.
